Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
We are currently recruiting for a Labour & Employment Legal Assistant on behalf of a well-established, unionized firm in Toronto. This is a replacement hire, joining a collaborative team supporting two partners in a busy and structured practice.
This role requires experience supporting labour matters such as arbitrations, grievances, or tribunal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Prepare and file materials for tribunals including OLRB, GSB, and HRTO
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and limitation periods for assigned lawyers
- Coordinate hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and client meetings
- Maintain organized file systems (including opening, closing, and archiving files)
- Handle incoming communications and track key dates
- Enter dockets daily and assist with billing, pre-bills, and reporting
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the team
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of legal assistant or law clerk experience (labour & employment preferred)
- Experience supporting lawyers in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of tribunal processes and timelines
- Solid document drafting and proofreading skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience with NetDocuments and Soluno is an asset
- Strong communication skills and professional client service approach
Compensation Benefits:
- $60,000-$64,000
