The June Motel is a boutique motel brand with two locations, Prince Edward County and Sauble Beach, an online shop and a Netflix TV series called Motel Makeover. REPORTING TO
In this role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager of The June Motel.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
A Room Attendant (Laundry Focus) is responsible for ensuring our high service and brand standards are upheld through pristine linen and textile care. While this role includes supporting standard room attendant tasks, the primary focus is managing all aspects of the laundry cycle—from stripping rooms and treating stains to washing, drying, and folding. This role is vital to the guest experience, ensuring every stay begins with fresh, high-quality linens.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Laundry Operations (Primary Focus)
- Collect and strip linens from guest rooms as needed.
- Sort, pre-treat stains, and organize laundry loads by type and colour.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment (washers and dryers) according to safety and efficiency protocols.
- Properly fold, organize, and store clean linens, towels, and amenities.
- Maintain an organized and clean laundry room, including cleaning floors and sanitizing equipment.
- Monitor linen inventory and report low stock levels to management.
Room Attendant Tasks (Secondary/As Needed)
- Assist with cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing guest rooms.
- Make beds and replenish towels and toiletries.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks or seasonal cleaning as required.
- Deliver and retrieve guest-requested items (e.g., irons, extra linens).
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner when necessary.
- Communicate with the team regarding room status and maintenance issues.
- Follow all health, safety, and service standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing and walking for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs and push equipment
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, bend, twist, push, and perform other physical tasks as required
- Ability to work independently at a steady pace while maintaining quality standards
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset
- Commitment to excellent service and exceeding guest expectations
- Comfortable interacting with guests
- Strong time management skills
- Comfortable communicating in English with guests and team members; we welcome applications from individuals learning English, clear professional communication is prioritized over perfect grammar
- Standard First Aid and WHMIS Certification are an asset
DETAILS & COMPENSATION
- Start date: Immediately
- Status: Part-time, seasonal
- Rate: Starting at $20.60 per hour based on experience (plus tips)
- Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours per week, primarily during the evening
- Number of positions: 1
