Summer In-Home Childcare Position
We are seeking a caring, dependable nanny to provide in-home care for our two children ages two and three years old.
Position Details
- Location: Richards Landing, St. Joseph Island
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday
- Dates: June until mid August (negotiable)
- Hours: 8:30am–5:00pm (34 hours/week)
- Pay: $20-$22 depending on experience and skill
Daily responsibilities would include
- Childcare: Organize and facilitate engaging, age- appropriate activities, reading stories (low screen environment), daily supervised outside play time, enforcing family safety rules, shaping unwanted behaviors and teaching/model desired behaviours, etc
- Dressing: Assist children dressing themselves appropriately for indoor and outdoor play
- Outside time: These high energy kids thrive outdoors. The ideal candidate can nurture their love of nature and is comfortable spending time outside in a variety of weather conditions. A private beach, horse farm, and play areas are within walking distance from the house
- Meals: Prepare and serve healthy lunches and snacks
- Naps: Support and facilitate nap time routines
- Potty training: Both children are nearly fully potty trained but may need reminders or assistance
- Tidying: Handle light housework such as tidying common areas and kitchen, helping with laundry
- Communicating with parents: Keep brief records of daily activities and relaying important information to parents
The ideal candidate
- Has reliable transportation
- Has experience with children age 2&3 years old
- Has CPR and First Aid certification
- Is willing to pass a background check
- Is present, attentive, and engaging, not distracted with phone
- Is fun, creative, and energetic enough to keep up with high energy kids
- Is comfortable and prepared to spend time outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Is a non-smoker
- Is comfortable with dogs (dog will be in separate room so not underfoot)
- Can provide references upon request
