We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing to lead Jayman’s corporate marketing strategy, strengthen our brand and support business objectives across all divisions.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Director of Marketing will develop and oversee Jayman’s company-wide marketing strategy and annual marketing plan.
This senior leadership role requires someone who can see the big picture while ensuring strategies are successfully carried through to execution. You will lead the marketing team, oversee agency and vendor relationships and work closely with executive, sales and divisional leaders across Calgary and Edmonton.
You will understand Jayman’s customers, products and unique selling propositions and translate them into marketing strategies that drive awareness, customer engagement, qualified traffic and measurable business results.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategy and Brand Leadership

Develop and execute Jayman’s annual corporate marketing strategy, budget, campaign calendar and performance measures.

Partner with executive, sales and divisional leaders to align marketing priorities with company objectives and sales targets.

Protect, strengthen and evolve the Jayman BUILT brand across all customer and public-facing channels.

Ensure consistent brand standards, messaging and creative direction throughout the organization.

Monitor customer trends, competitor activity and market conditions and adjust strategies when required.

Oversee corporate communications, public relations, sponsorships, industry partnerships and award submissions.

Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives (ex. MS Walk, Edmonton Public School Foundation, Calgary Reads and initiatives that support ending homelessness)

Sponsorship management.

Develop Relationships with Developer partners.
Marketing and Customer Engagement

Lead the marketing strategy and execution for Nostalgia Townlet, Jayman’s new master-planned community where Jayman serves as both the land developer and homebuilder.

Work closely with the Jayman Living land development team to build the Nostalgia brand, support and be onsite for community launches and create an integrated marketing approach for both the community and Jayman Built.

Use customer, digital, campaign and sales data to evaluate performance and improve marketing effectiveness.

Work closely with sales teams to support community launches, product releases, sales-centre openings and ongoing community performance.

Ensure sales centres, showhomes and customer-facing materials are current, accurate and aligned with the Jayman brand.
Financial and Operational Leadership

Develop and manage the annual marketing budgets.

Monitor spending and results and recommend where marketing resources should be increased, reduced or redirected.

Negotiate and oversee media agreements and major agency, consultant and vendor contracts.

Ensure external partners provide high-quality work on time and within budget.

Establish clear project-management, approval and reporting processes for the marketing department.

Identify technology, tools and process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Team and Organizational Leadership

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing marketing team across Calgary and Edmonton.

Establish clear expectations, priorities and accountabilities for the department.

Create a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, ownership and continuous improvement.

Build strong working relationships across marketing, sales, operations and executive leadership.

Provide regular executive reporting on marketing performance, budgets, market trends, risks and opportunities.

Travel regularly to Edmonton to maintain alignment and support the regional team.
What You Bring to the Table
-
Post-secondary education in marketing, communications or a related field.
-
A minimum of 12 years of progressive marketing experience, including experience leading a marketing team or function.

Demonstrated experience developing and executing organization-wide marketing and brand strategies.

Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, websites, content strategy, email marketing, SEO, paid media and analytics.

Experience leading integrated campaigns across traditional and digital channels.

Experience managing significant budgets, agencies, consultants, media partners and vendors.

Strong leadership, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

The ability to translate business objectives into practical marketing plans and measurable results.

Strong financial awareness, project-management skills and sound business judgment.

The confidence to provide strategic recommendations and communicate effectively with executive leaders.

Experience in residential construction, real estate, land development or a related industry would be considered an asset.

Previous marketing agency experience would also be an asset.

Where You’ll Be Working
This position is based at Jayman BUILT’s Calgary head office as well as visits to communities, sales centres, showhomes and industry events.
