The Opportunity
Are you a high-achieving sales professional who thrives on building technical partnerships rather than just "closing deals"? Smith and Long Limited is seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Executive to spearhead our business development efforts in the GTA.
This is a pivotal role designed for a "hunter" who possesses a deep understanding of the mechanical and electrical construction landscapes. You won’t just be selling services; you will be providing integrated solutions to contractors, service companies, and project managers, ensuring Smith and Long remains the gold standard for multi-trade excellence.
The Mission (Expectations & Key Responsibilities)
Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Market Expansion: Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities within the HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical sectors to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Relationship Management: Transition from "vendor" to "trusted advisor" for our existing portfolio of contractors and project managers.
- Technical Consultation: Provide high-level product knowledge and technical solutions that align with the complex needs of mechanical systems.
- Strategic Pipeline Management: Own the full sales cycle—from initial prospecting and technical bids/quotes to diligent follow-up and closing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our internal operations and estimating teams to ensure project timelines are met and customer satisfaction is guaranteed.

Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Proven track record in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or Mechanical industry sales.
- Regional Knowledge: Strong existing network within the Kitchener/Waterloo contractor and service markets.
- Logistics: Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (regular travel within the region is required).
- Education: Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or a related technical trade is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 Annually
