Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Doula with advanced lactation credentials to join our elite care team. This role is ideal for a professional who combines evidence-based practice, emotional intelligence, and clinical knowledge to support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.
Duties
Prenatal Care
- Conduct in-depth prenatal consultations and develop customized care plans with support from Clinical Nurse
- Prepare families/Mother for life after childbirth
- Provide education on labor and how to build healthy sleep habits for their babies, recovery, and infant feeding
- Provide belly binding. Pelvic tucking and structural support
Labor & Birth Support
- Deliver continuous emotional and physical support after labor
- Apply advanced comfort techniques and labor support strategies
- Develop strategies to help infants to learn to fall asleep independently
Postpartum & Lactation Support
- Provide hands-on breastfeeding support and feeding assessments
- Address lactation challenges (low supply, latch issues, engorgement)
- Support maternal recovery, newborn care, and family adjustment
- Offer follow-up care with documentation and care plans
- Offer emotional support and physical comfort measures after delivery in various settings.
- Assist new mothers with breastfeeding techniques, latch, and addressing common challenges.
- Develop individualized care plans tailored to each family's needs and preferences.
- Educate families on parenting strategies.
Skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing client records and scheduling appointments.
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs.
Qualifications
Required
- Certified Doula (DONA, CAPPA, ICEA, or equivalent)
- IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) strongly preferred
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience supporting families
- Nursing, Midwifery, or Health Sciences background
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Training in mental health (PMH-C an asset)
- Experience in high-risk cases, or NICU settings

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
