Westcor Construction Ltd., a General Contracting and Construction Management firm located in Calgary, Alberta, is looking for a full time Journeyman Carpenter. The ideal candidate should have construction experience.
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely and properly use all hand tools and power tools, must be in possession of a valid driver’s license, be able to work 44 hours per week, and be available to work out of town occasionally. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, demonstrate safety awareness, have the ability to safely lift 50lb., and be able to work alone or as part of a team.
Journeyman applicant must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, instruct apprentices, determine specifications and calculate requirements, prepare layouts, measure, cut, shape, assemble and join molding’s, wood materials, drywall and plastics materials, build foundations, fit and install windows, doors, stairs, molding’s and hardware, build floor beams and subflooring, build walls and install partitions, build and install framing for dropped ceilings, counters, indirect lighting, display cases, etc., install fire doors, install shoring, install drywall, install insulation, build decks and fences, build and install platforms, scaffolding, ramps and ladders, operate power tools, build concrete forms, and knowledgeable with concrete installation. Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license. Wage based on experience. We also provide a benefit package.
