Ross Video is a world leader in High Definition Video Production Equipment, designed and manufactured in Canada and sold world-wide. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Working with a development team at the Ottawa Research and Development facility, and reporting to a senior developer, the successful candidate will experience first-hand the highs and lows of real software development while working with top-level developers and team leaders. Specifically, you’ll assist the Hyperconverged Solutions (HCS) Product Team with Software Development tasks, including UI and/or Embedded systems programming. A variety of different languages and technologies are used, providing opportunities for interested candidates with a variety of different interests and backgrounds.
This position is located at our office on Auriga Drive in Nepean however most teams have adopted a hybrid-work model. Our pay rates range from $24 - $35 per hour, based on experience.
WHAT YOU KNOW
-
Currently enrolled in Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science at the Intermediate level to Senior level

Programming experience, ideally in one or more of the following languages C & C++

Other desirable skills or areas of interest, considered a plus:

Yocto Project: BitBake, OpenEmbedded, and the Yocto build system.

Embedded Linux Basics – Uboot, Linux kernel, cross-compiling, boot flow.

Experience or working knowledge of micro-controller, micro-processor, cross-compiling, compiler, boot flow, I2C, SPI

Experience working hands on with hardware

Experience in a Linux development environment
