Responsibilities
Tasks

Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions

Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
-
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications

Attach components and adjust new farm equipment

Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work

Perform repair work on heavy trucks

Perform other routine maintenance
Job Duties
-
Inspects combines, forage harvesters, tractors, balers and other agricultural and heavy equipment for proper performance; identifies faults and malfunctions to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation

Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required

Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools, in accordance with manufacturer specifications

Tests and verifies equipment performance following service and repair to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards

Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance and routine maintenance work on agricultural and heavy equipment
-
May perform repair and maintenance work on heavy trucks as required

May attach components and adjust new farm equipment to ensure proper setup and operation
