We are currently seeking a Live-in Building Superintendent to join our organization in Mississauga. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Regional Property Manager to oversee the building administrative and maintenance operations.
This is a full-time, live-in position which will require the Building Representative to live on site in the apartment provided. The overall objectives are to tend to the tenants needs and requirements and to ensure that the building is highly maintained.
Job Duties:
- Handling the general maintenance of the property and nearby properties.
- Responding to maintenance requests and service calls.
- Minor plumbing and electrical maintenance.
- Ability to install countertops, repair kitchen cabinets and perform other minor carpentry repairs.
- Capable of properly caulking tubs, sinks, countertops, etc.
- Skilled in drywall patching and plaster patching of walls and ceilings.
- Install sinks, toilets, etc. and related plumbing fixtures.
- Performing daily inspection checks on the building systems.
- Maintain Fire Safety Logs and follow all the protocols as per the Fire Safety Code.
- Ensuring regular garbage removal and recycling pickup occurs in an efficient manner.
- Seasonal exterior ground maintenance/landscaping.
- Maintain positive and strong relations with tenants.
- Delivering letters and notices to residents.
- Monthly rent collections.
- Showing and renting apartments.
- Handling turnover of apartments, ensuring they are cleaned and ready to show prospective residents.
- Monitoring inventory control of supplies and equipment.
- Performing any other duties as requested.
Successful Candidates Possess:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience with basic plumbing, electrical, heating and mechanical/ventilation systems.
- Previous experience with drywall and plastering.
- A pleasant, outgoing and professional demeanor - whether in person, or by telephone.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Computer literate.
- Strong problem solving skills and a strong sense of personal responsibility and reliability, with the desire to work as an integral member of a team.
- Must be available to work flexible hours.
Must have a valid drivers license and own a vehicle.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
