Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of tile surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction standards, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints accurately. The Tile Setter will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure high-quality results that meet client specifications and safety standards.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine tile layout and installation procedures.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar.
- Measure and cut tiles precisely using hand tools, power tools, and tile cutters to fit designated spaces.
- Install tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, or other surfaces with attention to alignment and spacing.
- Apply caulking or grout to seal joints and ensure a finished appearance.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for large-scale projects such as concrete forming or masonry work related to tile installation.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to coordinate project tasks effectively.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tile setting or related construction trades such as masonry or flooring installation.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and tile cutting equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction standards including caulking techniques and masonry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various environmental conditions.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation.
Pay: $20.00-$39.00 per hour
