Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires excellent communication skills, classroom experience, and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to support diverse student needs. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure each child's individual growth is supported effectively.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Assess and monitor children's developmental progress regularly, providing feedback to parents and guardians
- Incorporate activities that support language development, including bilingual instruction in English and French
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored teaching strategies and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and other documentation as required
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and educational software applications
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques while promoting social skills
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; classroom experience preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education curricula and developmental milestones
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Excellent organizational skills for managing lesson plans, assessments, and classroom materials
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while fostering a collaborative classroom environment
- Proficiency in computer operation for educational tools, record keeping, and communication purposes
- Childcare or early childhood education certification/license is preferred but not mandatory depending on regional requirements
- Demonstrated time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently
