Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice at both our Markham and Ajax locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to cat and dog patients, ensuring their health and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on exceptional client service and animal care. Experience in laboratory procedures is preferred to support diagnostic processes and treatment planning. We have digital x rays and dental x rays are paper light and have an in house lab consisting of CBC, Chemistry and Urinalysis. Experience 1-3 years and able to work independently.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual animals’ needs
- Perform surgical procedures, vaccinations, and other medical interventions as required
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress during recovery
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and health management strategies
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Utilize laboratory equipment and procedures for diagnostic testing to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the respective state or region
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, staff, and colleagues
- Compassionate approach toward animals and their owners
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with veterinary advancements
