Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction General Labourer to join our team. This role involves supporting various construction projects, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the smooth progress of job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in construction trades. Experience in construction-related tasks and familiarity with tools and safety procedures are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple aspects of construction, including framing, finishing, and site preparation.
Duties
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials
- Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and other trades with their tasks
- Operate hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and other basic equipment safely
- Use power tools for various applications including cutting, drilling, and fastening
- Help with concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks
- Assist with installation of cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, and other interior finishes
- Support masonry work including bricklaying or concrete work as needed
- Perform demolition or removal of old structures or materials
- Follow schematics and blueprints to assist in project execution
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction safety practices
- Knowledge of specific skills such as concrete forming, finishing, caulking, welding, electrical work, plumbing, masonry, restoration, or flooring installation is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team environment
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety compliance
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for site access or material transport purposes
