Optometric Assistant / Receptionist / Frame Stylist
Looking for the ideal candidate to join our team ! We are looking to hire a new team member to join our modern, progressive optometric practice located in downtown Stoney Creek !
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, fashionable, team oriented, computer savvy with excellent work ethic and possess exceptional customer service and sales skills.
The successful candidate will possess the skills and personality to provide exemplary patient care and a positive, memorable patient experience.
Ability for quick learning and mastering new skills is a must.
Responsibilites
Our optometric assistants are responsible for the patient's overall experience from when they enter the clinic until they leave the eyewear boutique.
- General reception/front desk duties including scheduling appointments, invoicing, answering phone calls, etc
- Pre-testing patients on various optometric equipment in preparation for their eye exam with the optometrist
- Assisting patients in selection of eyewear to suit patients' aesthetic and performance needs as well as lens selection and lens measurements.
- Enter eyeglass and contact lens orders in our electronic medical records software.
- Dispense, adjust and repair patient eyewear.
- Participate in team development training and initiatives including team meetings and continuing education.
- Troubleshoot patient concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Contribute to clinic retail sales goals.
- Willing to learn new skills such as instructing patients on the use of contact lenses, instilling diagnostic drops in patients' eyes, assisting with in-office dry eye therapy, etc.
Responsibilities may change over time.
Relevant optometric experience is an asset but not mandatory
Successful customer service experience is beneficial
Willing to train the ideal candidate
Starting hourly rate based on experience and skill set

Job Types: Part-time , Permanent. 3 days per week with flexibility including some Saturday mornings.
Starting Salary: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
