JOB SUMMARY
The role of Electrical Foreman will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects at the field level, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of tasks while directly reporting to the Electrical Superintendent. This position will involve managing daily on-site activities, coordinating with team members, sub-contractors, and inspection authorities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, codes, and regulations. The Electrical Foreman will play a key role in mentoring and guiding the electrical team, driving a culture of safety and excellence, and providing regular updates and feedback to the Electrical Superintendent. This position will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for quality and safety in all electrical operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, schedule, and supervise a crew to deliver results on projects.
- Track crew hours of work and submit using timesheet program (WorkMax).
- Maintain dialogue between stakeholders and complete required paperwork.
- Ensure safe completion of project deliverables.
- Install secondary power, high voltage, and telecommunications.
- Install parking lot lighting and streetlight poles.
- Trenching and installation of conduit and pipe.
- Troubleshooting and isolate circuits and cables.
- Building and hooking contactors.
- Terminations of panels for street lighting.
- Build and install arterial road cabinets.
- Installing wall light features.
- Build and install temporary power panels.
- Aerial work using a bucket truck to exchange and rewire ballasts.
- Assist in the concrete pour in place foundation bases for street lighting.
- Installing electrical equipment on structures.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of construction leadership experience in the utility and/or electrical industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Experience operating equipment is an asset.
- Experience with aerial work is an asset.
- Available to work 6 days per week and overtime as required.
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
- Pass a pre-employment fitness test.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Red Seal and or Alberta Journeyman Electrician
- Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Leadership training – LSE
- Standard First Aid – An Asset.
- Ground Disturbance Level II – An Asset.
