Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpet Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, with a focus on carpet, and possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction while ensuring that all installations meet industry standards.
Duties
- Measure and cut carpet materials to fit specific areas, ensuring precise dimensions for optimal installation.
- Prepare surfaces for carpet installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or padding.
- Install carpet using appropriate techniques, tools, and equipment, ensuring a seamless finish.
- Lay tile as needed, following design specifications and ensuring proper alignment.
- Read blueprints and project plans to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to flooring projects, including trim work and adjustments.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for cutting, fitting, and securing carpet materials.
- Apply caulking where necessary to ensure a clean finish and prevent moisture penetration.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the installation process.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools commonly used in flooring installation and construction.
- Strong experience in flooring installation techniques, particularly with carpets and tiles.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately to execute installation plans effectively.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry skills for trim work and adjustments during installations.
- Experience with caulking applications for finishing touches on installations.
- General maintenance person experience is beneficial for troubleshooting issues that may arise during projects.
