Position Summary
Dural Hotels is seeking a reliable, organized, and hardworking Laundry Attendant to support the laundry operations for both La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kelowna and Super 8 by Wyndham Kelowna. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring all hotel linens, towels, and guest laundry (where applicable) are cleaned, dried, folded, and distributed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.
The successful candidate will work in a shared laundry facility serving both hotels and will also receive cross-training in the housekeeping department. This cross-training provides additional opportunities to support hotel operations during busy periods, assist with room preparation when needed, and develop valuable hospitality skills while contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, pillowcases, and other laundry items.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and remove unsuitable items from circulation.
- Maintain appropriate linen inventory levels for both hotel properties.
- Deliver clean linens and collect soiled linens from housekeeping storage areas.
- Follow all health, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Handle laundry chemicals according to manufacturer and workplace safety guidelines.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Assist housekeeping with linen-related tasks as required.
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping teams at both hotel properties.
- Receive cross-training in housekeeping duties, including cleaning and preparing guest rooms, replenishing guest amenities, making beds, and ensuring rooms meet Wyndham and Dural Hotels brand standards.
- Provide housekeeping support during peak occupancy, staff shortages, or operational needs as assigned.
- Follow all Dural Hotels, Wyndham, and workplace policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience is considered an asset.
- Willingness to be cross-trained and perform both laundry and housekeeping duties as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing.
- Ability to work in a warm laundry environment.
- Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding housekeeping tasks, including cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, making beds, and pushing housekeeping carts.
