The Opportunity
You’ll work in a dynamic kitchen that balances a fast-paced a la carte service with high-end private events. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you won’t just be "flipping burgers" you’ll be:
- Executing Excellence: Preparing and plating diverse, high-quality menu items that meet the expectations of a private membership.
- Innovating: Collaborating on new recipes and seasonal dishes.
- Mastering the Craft: Honing your technical skills in a professional environment that prioritizes food safety and culinary precision.
- Creating Memories: Ensuring every guest, regardless of dietary restrictions or allergies, receives a meal to remember.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to exact specifications, ensuring consistency in flavor, temperature, and presentation.
- Manage high-volume food preparation for the main kitchen, including prep for peak service times and large-scale banquets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in accordance with provincial health and safety regulations and CGYC policies.
- Assist in the receiving, rotation (FIFO), and stocking of food inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report any maintenance needs to the Chef.
- Support the culinary team during busy periods.
- Handle food with care to ensure quality and safety.
- Work effectively with front-of-house staff and management to deliver a seamless and memorable guest experience.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
What You Bring to the Table
- The Experience: A background in premium hospitality or golf environments is a major plus, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment but a professional attitude and a hunger to learn are essential.
- The Mindset: You’re a team player who understands that a great service requires communication, clean workstations, and a "mise-en-place" mentality.
- The Drive: You take pride in consistency, health and safety, and the "final look" of every dish that leaves your station.
- Culinary training or relevant certifications are an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
