Structural Engineer
Our client is looking for a Structural Engineer to join their established construction and design-build engineering firm in Edmonton, AB. With over 35 years of experience and a team of 60+ employees, this company specializes in industrial and commercial projects across Alberta.
They are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, and execution of diverse construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on all phases of a project, from initial design and estimating to construction and project closeout, while collaborating with a dynamic team.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of structural systems for industrial and commercial projects.
- Review project requirements and develop engineering solutions tailored to client needs.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, consultants, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure project success.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities to support efficient execution.
- Assist with quantity take-offs, material estimates, and project cost tracking to maintain budgetary control.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and inspections as required to monitor progress and address issues.
- Assist with project documentation, reporting, and quality control processes to ensure project standards are met..

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, or eligibility for registration.
- Engineering experience in industrial, commercial, or construction environments.
- Knowledge of structural design principles, building systems, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with Alberta Building Code requirements and engineering standards.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
