As the Structural Welder, you will play a crucial role in our operations by fabricating and welding various metal components to meet the needs of our diverse clientele. Consistently interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan the welding process. Assemble and align metal parts using various tools and equipment, ensuring the correct position and angle for welding.
- Perform a variety of welding techniques, including flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) / Metal Cored Arc Welding (MCAW)
- Safely operate and maintain welding tools, equipment, and machinery including welding machines
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications to fabricate, assemble, and weld structural metal components and products
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Use of typical fabrication hand tools (mag drills, grinders etc.)
- Assist with material handling using various equipment and through manual labour.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications by conducting visual inspections of welds and performing necessary repairs or modifications
- Conduct grinding and finishing work to smooth and clean welds
- Utilize measuring instruments and tools to ensure proper alignment and dimensions
- Collaborate with design team to provide input on fabrication methods and resolve any technical issues that may arise
- Follow proper safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per company policy.
- Responsible for housekeeping, cleanup of all machines and work areas.
- Maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are in a clean, safe, and working order.
- Interact respectfully, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of cooperation
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Follow instructions, maintain timelines and execute effective time management
- Lift, slide, carry and lower items that weigh up to 50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
- Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch and company success
