Overview
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines must know chainsaws and small equipment is a must and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience with various tools, and a passion for troubleshooting and repair. Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and schematics to accurately identify issues and execute repairs
- Conduct welding and electrical repairs as needed to restore equipment functionality
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide exceptional customer service
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures, including heavy lifting and the use of appropriate safety gear
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Work with sales team to recommend appropriate parts or upgrades for customer needs
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with small engines or automotive repair preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity with schematics and electrical systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about repairs and maintenance options
- Automotive or electrical experience is desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
