We are a newly renovated 38-room hotel located in Merritt, BC. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Worker to help us maintain a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our guests. This role includes both general hotel maintenance and year-round landscaping duties. If you take pride in your work and enjoy variety in your day, we want to hear from you.
Job Responsibilities General Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs inside guest rooms and hotel common areas (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Inspect and maintain hotel equipment and systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from front desk, housekeeping, or management
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
- Monitor and maintain pool/spa equipment (if applicable)
- Maintain proper documentation of repairs and completed work
- Coordinate with outside contractors or service providers for specialized repairs
Landscaping & Outdoor Duties:
- Perform lawn care: mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, fertilizing, and watering as needed
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and seasonal plantings
- Handle snow removal, salting walkways, and clearing sidewalks during winter months
- Keep parking lot, sidewalks, and outdoor guest areas clean, safe, and presentable
- Inspect and maintain outdoor lighting, signage, and property appearance
Requirements
- Previous maintenance or landscaping experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, landscaping equipment, and groundskeeping
- Physically able to lift, bend, operate outdoor equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
- Able to work independently, manage priorities, and problem-solve
- Available for occasional on-call or emergency repairs
- Reliable transportation to and from work
