Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for a seniors' residence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for culinary excellence. This hands-on role involves overseeing, and participating in, daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. A background in restaurant management and hospitality is essential to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and team collaboration
- Participate in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs while maintaining freshness and quality
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients in order to provide nutritious, appetizing meals to seniors.
- Train staff on proper food handling, safety protocols, and service techniques
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and sanitation to uphold health standards
- Lead by example in serving guests with professionalism and hospitality
- Maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Excellent team management and leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate staff
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant management operations, including inventory control and cost management
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the hospitality industry
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in food quality and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
- Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and customer service
- Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development and serving guests, particularly for a residence type facility.

Pay: $40,448.67-$85,639.01 per year
