Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Body Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicle exteriors, ensuring a professional and flawless appearance. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of automotive painting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued, as they contribute to the overall quality of work and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Mix and match paints to achieve the desired color and finish
- Apply primer, base coats, clear coats, and other finishes using spray guns and hand tools
- Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during the painting process
- Assist with minor vehicle repairs or mechanical tasks as needed, leveraging automotive repair knowledge
- Heavy lifting of vehicles or parts may be required during preparation and finishing stages
Skills
- Proven dealership experience in automotive painting or body shop work
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle repair and maintenance
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in automotive painting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality finish work
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
