Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner to join our dynamic restaurant team. The Food Runner will serve as a vital link between the kitchen and dining area, ensuring that food is delivered promptly and accurately to guests. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of food safety, and a passion for providing exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, hospitality, or related fields, with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prepared food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure accuracy of orders and proper presentation before serving
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including plating and garnishing
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including clearing tables and sanitizing surfaces
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding order status and special requests
- Support servers and other team members to enhance guest experience
- Handle food safely according to established protocols and standards
- Assist with basic cashiering duties using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Restock supplies and assist in cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Experience with POS systems like Micros POS or similar is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
- Kitchen experience, including food preparation or cooking, is advantageous
- Hospitality or hotel experience can be beneficial
- Basic cash handling skills preferred
- Flexibility to work during busy hours, including weekends and evenings if needed
