We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. This is an entry-level position with strong growth potential, ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction health and safety.
No direct experience is required; however, candidates must have education or related exposure in health & safety, construction, engineering, or a similar field.
This role involves travel to active job sites and working at heights. The successful candidate will work closely with site teams to help maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Description
The Health & Safety Coordinator will support the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures on active construction sites. This role includes both fieldwork and administrative responsibilities, with a strong focus on hazard identification, documentation, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing health & safety programs and procedures
- Conduct site inspections and identify potential hazards
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Support incident reporting, investigations, and documentation
- Maintain safety records, logs, and reports
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Communicate safety expectations with workers and site personnel
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and crews
Qualifications
- Education or exposure in health & safety, construction, engineering, or related field
- Must be willing to travel to various job sites
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
Preferred (Not Required)
- Working at Heights certification
- First Aid / CPR
- WHMIS
- Previous construction or site experience
