Reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Manager, Consolidations plays a critical leadership role within the finance function of a large, complex organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the consolidation and financial reporting processes across multiple entities and business units, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the quarterly consolidation and reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of consolidated financial results to executive leadership.
- Review and validate supporting schedules, reconciliations, and financial analyses required for external financial statement disclosures and internal management reporting.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with business units and corporate departments to facilitate efficient period-end close activities and resolve consolidation-related issues.
- Maintain and enhance internal control documentation and support a robust financial reporting environment.
- Manage the integration of newly acquired businesses into the organization's consolidation, accounting, and reporting framework.
- Partner with business and finance teams to address consolidation system requirements, troubleshoot reporting issues, and ensure the timely delivery of financial information.
- Coordinate external audit activities by responding to auditor requests and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the consolidation function, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic projects, system enhancements, and organization-wide finance initiatives.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and development-focused environment.
- Support the Vice President, Finance with financial reporting, technical accounting matters, strategic initiatives, and other finance-related activities.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses, research, and special projects to support business decision-making and organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, corporate policies, and reporting requirements while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on consolidation processes, providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a Canadian CPA who brings a strong foundation in financial reporting, consolidations, and complex accounting within large, sophisticated organizations. You will possess a minimum of eight years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least three years in a management role, and ideally have developed your technical expertise through a Big Four public accounting background.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of IFRS and experience working within a public company or similarly complex reporting environment. Experience at the Manager or Senior Manager level is essential, along with demonstrated expertise in consolidations and multi-entity reporting structures.
The right candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You are an effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills and a proven ability to collaborate with business leaders, finance teams, and external auditors. A confident people leader, you have a track record of coaching and developing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Experience with consolidation and reporting platforms such as OneStream, Cognos Controller, Hyperion Financial Management, or similar systems, along with advanced Excel and financial systems expertise, will support success in this role.
Additional Requirements
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
- Strong IFRS and financial reporting expertise.
- Consolidation and multi-entity reporting experience.
- Ability to work onsite a minimum of four days per week.
