Position Overview:
The Learning and Development Associate supports the Senior Manager of Learning Technology in ensuring that ORCA's Learning Management System (LMS), The Learning Centre for Senior Living (TLC), effectively meets the educational needs of ORCA members.
This position is responsible for assisting with activities that ensure The Learning Center runs smoothly including troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with system updates, and providing support to members navigating the platform. The Associate assists the Senior Manager and collaborates with various Subject Matter Experts (SME) to support the development, delivery, and tracking of learning programs, ensuring that all content is accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with the goals of ORCA’s learning initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning Management System (The Learning Centre) Support
- Provide technical support to users, including learners and administrators, to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth navigation within the LMS
- Manage user roles and permissions within the LMS to maintain a secure and organized learning environment while meeting members needs
- Create new business units / profiles along with secondary roles to profiles
- Assist with the development of “How To” videos supporting regulatory compliance and best practice courses and resources
- Track updates and/or changes needed to guides and FAQ
- Maintain troubleshooting database for System Administrators to share knowledge with other associations who partner with ORCA for LMS use
- Log all inquiries (calls & emails) for LMS in CRM
- Assist members with publishing site specific policies/information on the LMS
- Manage member, partner and internal access to LMS
- Provide exceptional member customer service to support LMS and education initiatives
- Facilitate focus groups with members and deliver informational sessions on the use of the LMS at various ORCA events
- Support the running of monthly and quarterly reports on the LMS ticket traffic as well as in-depth reporting on overall usage of LMS
Content Development
- Collaborate with SMEs for the development of storyboards, creating eLearning tutorials for new and revised tutorials
- Assist with designing and developing training materials including guides, evaluations and job aids for new and revised tutorials
- Perform corrections and updates to tutorial content and SCORM packages to ensure proper performance within the LMS
Learning Programs Support
- Support maintaining webinar registration process and post webinar reporting.
- Assist with the facilitation of ORCA webinars
- Assist with tracking feedback and participation for online learning programs
- Assist with the development and creation of content for webinars and tutorials including leverage SME and attending Ad hoc meetings
- Support Leadership Development Program registration and onboarding for participants and mentors by matching mentors and participants and verifying all forms have been signed and following up with participant/mentor inquiries
- Assist in development/maintenance of materials, evaluations and aids for the Leadership Development Program
Miscellaneous
- Provide pre, on-site and post support to events and conferences as needed
- Support for Education Advisory Group meetings including taking minutes
- Participate in project team meetings to support member initiatives
- Perform other duties to support the success of ORCA
- Continue professional development education to remain current in training and adult learning education practices
Knowledge/Skill
- A university degree, college diploma or equivalent experience in adult education with pertinent work experience
- Previous eLearning development experience including storyboarding and SCORM development.
- Experience with training content creation tools such as Articulate Storyline 2 and SCORM standards
Demonstrated working knowledge and practical experience with:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Learning Management Systems
- Articulate Storyline 360
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc)
- Camtasia or similar video editing software
- WordPress

Work Conditions
- Work from ORCA office in Oakville
- Office location is near the GO Station.
- Travel and attendance at ORCA events.
- Minimum starting salary is $68,000. Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Up to a maximum of 5% bonus of eligible earnings (based on individual performance and Association’s financial outcomes)
- Base compensation will be supplemented to account for the absence of contractual health & dental benefits.
- Matching RRSP of up to a maximum of 4 per cent of salary.
