Bag Hall Safety Officer
Location: Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
Schedule: On-site shift work (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights)

We’re looking for a confident, safety-driven Bag Hall Safety Officer to support compliance, accountability, and safe work practices in one of the airport’s busiest operational areas. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, communicates with authority, and steps in when safety standards are at risk. What You’ll Do
- Monitor baggage hall operations to ensure safe, compliant work practices
- Identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and operational risks
- Conduct safety observations and complete required documentation
- Support incident response and follow-up
- Hold workers, contractors, and partners accountable to Bag Hall Safety Directives
- Promote a consistent, safety-focused operational culture

Qualifications
- Be able to obtain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card) pending security check
- Safety-related training or certifications (e.g., OFA Level 1/2, WHMIS, JHSC)
- Knowledge of workplace safety principles and hazard identification
- Experience in an operational, industrial, aviation, or safety-sensitive environment
- Ability to address unsafe behavior with authority and professionalism
- Skilled in documentation, reporting, and following established procedures
- Comfortable enforcing rules and compliance expectations
- Able to stay focused in high-activity environments
- Detail-oriented observer who notices hazards and patterns
- Physically able to navigate large operational areas and respond quickly to incidents
Preferred
- Full RAIC holder with D/A
- Driver’s License
- Experience in aviation operations, baggage handling, or airport safety
- Experience with safety observations, audits, or compliance checks
- Familiarity with incident response protocols and reporting systems
- Ability to build rapport while maintaining firm accountability
- Consistent, fair, and committed to a strong safety culture
- Confident communicator who upholds safety expectations
- Steady under pressure during operational disruptions or incidents
- Willing to take ownership and intervene when standards aren’t met

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
