The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly operational, process-driven General Manager to lead the dealership through its next phase of growth.
This role is ideal for a proven General Sales Manager, Assistant General Manager, or current General Manager with a demonstrated track record of driving measurable performance improvements through strong leadership, accountability, and process execution.
The successful candidate will bring deep variable operations expertise, exceptional sales leadership, and the ability to define, implement, and maintain high-performance processes across the dealership. We are looking for someone who understands how to build scalable systems, lead high-performing teams, and use data-driven decision making to improve performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, improving conversion and profitability metrics, and ensuring alignment between variable and fixed operations to maximize long-term dealership performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all dealership operations including Sales, Service, Parts, and Finance & Insurance
- Drive sustainable sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiency
- Establish, implement, and maintain disciplined dealership processes and accountability structures
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including volume, gross profit, inventory turn, CSI, and employee productivity
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with ownership and manufacturer objectives
- Build and retain high-performing department leaders and staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Improve operational efficiency through technology adoption, reporting, and process refinement
- Maintain strong manufacturer relations and ensure compliance with all regulatory and brand standards
- Deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience across all departments
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5+ years in a General Sales Manager (GSM) or equivalent senior leadership role within a franchised automotive dealership
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and operational performance
- Demonstrated success implementing and enforcing structured sales and operational processes
- Strong understanding of dealership KPIs, reporting, and performance management
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical and process-oriented with strong organizational discipline
- Experience with dealership systems including CDK, Autovance, Dealermine, and TMS is an asset
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid VSA license in British Columbia
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
