We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our retail team. Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Support sales management by implementing merchandising strategies and pricing policies
- Lead and supervise team members to ensure high levels of customer service and team productivity
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure positive shopping experiences
- Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, participate in interviewing candidates, and assist with staff training & development
- Oversee inventory purchasing, POS transactions, and store merchandising to optimize sales opportunities
- Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare reports for management review
- Develop marketing initiatives to promote store products and enhance brand visibility
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, and marketing techniques
- Ability to recruit, interview, train, and develop team members effectively
- Skilled in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of budgeting, payroll processing, purchasing procedures, and store management operations
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team environment
- Strong math skills for inventory control and financial transactions; excellent phone etiquette is essential
