Job Summary
Northwestern Systems Corporation specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of Life Science products found in Vivariums and Laboratory Research facilities as well as Healthcare products used in Hospital Sterile Processing and Surgical departments. Our modern manufacturing facility is located in western Canada. We distribute our products throughout North America, UK, and Asia with the help of experienced sales groups.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) to manage key large-scale projects worldwide. The successful candidate will oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The individual oversees all project responsibilities while working with other departments within the organization, such as Engineering, Suppler Chain, Operation, Production and Finance. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and execute projects from Order to Completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, procurement, and operations teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage project scope, timelines, and change requests.
- Track project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular status updates.
- Lead project meetings and facilitate communication and problem solving among stakeholders.
- Coordinate equipment installations, startup and commissioning.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality work and timely delivery.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Technical Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, ideally with industrial manufacturing industry experience.
- University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline).
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Excellent Communication Skills - interpersonal, verbal and written.
- Excellent proficiency in required computer programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team & independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong Time Management Skills, specifically the ability to multi task and prioritize.
Other Requirements:
- Occasional travel to supplier or customer locations may be required
Benefits:
Pay: $80,000.00-$99,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Project management (Industrial Manufacturing): 5 years (required)
- AutoCAD./ Solid Works: 2 years (required)
- PLC Controls/Automation Design/SCADA: 2 years (required)
- Sheet Metal Fabrication Industry (Industrial Manufacturing)?: 5 years (required)
- Project management software : 2 years (required)
