Job Summary
SAKE AND TAPAS CENTRAL ON GRANVILLE ISLAND are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional customer service in a sale and tapas lounge next to the sake production site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant experience, and a solid understanding of food safety and hospitality standards. This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing staff, maintaining high-quality food and service standards, and driving overall restaurant success.
The role involves managing STC while working at the counter. We are a small operation with over 40 seats and a small staff team
Sake and Tapas Central was opened in June 2025 as an extension of Artisan SakeMaker at Granville Island which was established on June 1, 2007.
Duties
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling to ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage team members through interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance to foster a motivated and efficient workforce.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and POS systems such as Micros POS to ensure accuracy and security.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant.
- Lead customer service initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food industry best practices, including food safety and hospitality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Implement policies for restaurant management, including supervising food service, barista services (if applicable), and hospitality standards.
- Lead by example in promoting teamwork, leadership, and a positive work environment.
Experience
- Proven minimum of 5 years of supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting in CANADA .
- Extensive restaurant management background with hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, interviewing, and training staff.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
- Previous hotel or barista experience is a plus for versatile hospitality expertise.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead a vibrant restaurant team while delivering outstanding dining experiences.
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
