WHO WE ARE
The purpose of the Edna Curren Memorial Fund (ECMF) is to provide subsidized rental office space to non-profit organizations committed to social and/or environmental causes.ECMF does this by managing its property located at 2138 McIntyre Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, colloquially known as Huston House. This property consists of a heritage home (with the interior converted to office space), a parking lot in the rear (also rented out for income), and a small lawn and garden.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Huston House is undergoing a multi-year construction project to renovate and overhaul the heritage home owned and operated by ECMF. The construction consists of a new foundation, a new roof and shingles, new heating and ventilation, significant sealing and insulation, eavestrough replacement, window and door replacement, and new steps inside and out. The project is “green” because net-zero construction and design is being implemented. Although the construction project will take several years, this job position is only for a maximum of 7 weeks.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As the Project Administration Officer, you will be responsible for raising the profile of Huston House, the value it brings to the community, and the ongoing green construction project. You have acquired some post-secondary training in communications, or can demonstrate proficiency in public relations and social media use and design. You are able to work from home but also attend events in person in Regina on occasion, and are currently enrolled as a post-secondary student studying business administration, office administration, public administration, or a related field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize public speaking events for the construction manager
- Write letters of solicitation toward potential donors
- Plan and host an open house to show stakeholders and potential future funders the value proposition of the property
- Prepare presentations and handouts to inform stakeholders of the construction progress to date, and remaining phases of construction, including anticipated costs
- Maintain the thermometer of funds required for each phase and for the total project
- Maintain the building’s heritage status paperwork at the municipal level
- General digital file management
- Promotion on Instagram
- Bring to the attention of the board any grants which look promising
- With help from the board, apply for grants
- Be an active member of the brainstorming team for fundraising ideas for the green construction project
- Be an overall champion of the green construction project
HOURS, LOCATION, AND SALARY
- Minimum 30 hours per week for minimum 6 consecutive weeks, but up to 7 weeks.
- Must be able to work from home, with occasional in-person attendance at events in Regina.
- Job begins June 15, 2026; negotiable
