The Role
Northwestern Polytechnic is seeking a Diagnostic Health Program Specialist - Subject Matter Expert to support the curricular alignment, regulatory and government approval, and implementation planning of diagnostic health programs in Alberta, including medical laboratory and diagnostic imaging programs. This flexible, remote, hourly role will support program readiness through regulatory engagement, standards alignment, and operational planning. Applicants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until position is filled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and align curriculum with Alberta and Canadian regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and professional standards.
- Prepare submissions and supporting documentation for regulators and Alberta Advanced Education.
- Engage with professional regulators, accreditation bodies, and other partners to support program approval and readiness.
- Develop equipment lists, space/facility requirements, and operational considerations for program implementation.
- Support the development of budgets, cost estimates, and business cases.
- Coordinate documentation and contribute to approval and implementation planning activities.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Licensed combined laboratory/X-ray technologist preferred; equivalent regulated diagnostic health credentials in a related field may be considered.
- Experience in medical laboratory, diagnostic imaging, medical laboratory assistant, and/or medical sonography education, clinical practice, or program environments.
- Knowledge of Alberta and Canadian regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and program approval requirements for diagnostic health programs.
- Experience with post-secondary institutions, accreditation bodies, professional regulators, or government approval processes is an asset.
- Experience in curriculum alignment, regulatory submissions, equipment and space planning, and budget or business case development is preferred.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, project coordination, document preparation, and collaboration.
