Key Responsibilities
· Provide exceptional phlebotomy services to patients in various settings, including private homes, nursing homes, retirement homes and other care environments.
· Perform ECGs and other specimen collections following clinical guidelines.
· Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
· Maintain accurate documentation and ensure optimal specimen handling andprocessing.
· Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality.
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Ensure supplies are maintained and monitored for expiry.
· Follow standard Safe Working Practices to protect your health and safety and those of your patients.
· Accurately log work-related mileage for reimbursement
· Handle all patient interactions courteously and professionally.
· Safeguard confidential information at all times.
Qualifications
· Certification or degree required: MLT, MLA, LPN, or RN
· Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience
· Knowledgeable in collecting electrocardiograms
· Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle
· Strong desire and commitment to improving patient care
· Skilled in managing challenging patients withcalmness, professionalism a caring apptiude
· Experience handling and transporting bio-hazardous substances safely
· Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Requirements
· Completed background check including cleared national criminal check, education verification , reference check , Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and Tuberculosis (TB) screening required
· Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two Health Canada-approved doses plus 14 days)
· Must have personal cellphone (with data), home computer, and printer.
