Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. This role is vital in setting the tone for an enjoyable dining experience and supporting the overall success of our restaurant. Prior hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential. The Host/Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests, making their experience memorable from the moment they arrive.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus promptly
- Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Assist with coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for reservations and guest check-ins
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest needs and concerns courteously
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure a seamless dining experience
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a welcoming demeanor
- Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems like Micros POS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional phone etiquette for reservation management and guest inquiries
- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
