Artron Laboratories Inc. is a Canadian developer and manufacturer of rapid diagnostic tests based on lateral flow immunoassay technology. We develop innovative in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products for global markets, including infectious diseases, fertility, women’s health, and point-of-care testing applications.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team. The successful candidate will support the development and optimization of rapid diagnostic products through hands-on laboratory work and collaboration with scientists across multiple R&D projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist scientists in the development and optimization of lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) products.
- Prepare laboratory reagents, buffers, conjugates and biological materials for product development.
- Perform routine laboratory experiments and accurately record experimental data.
- Support prototype preparation, assembly and evaluation of rapid diagnostic tests.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment used in immunoassay development.
- Prepare laboratory materials and consumables required for R&D projects.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, cleanliness and organization.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures, SOPs and quality system requirements.
- Work closely with scientists to support multiple product development projects and meet project timelines.
Qequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology or a related Life Science discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in an IVD company, preferably in rapid diagnostic test (lateral flow assay) development or manufacturing.
- Experience preparing laboratory reagents, buffers and biological materials.
- Experience operating common laboratory equipment and following laboratory SOPs.
- Strong attention to detail with good laboratory documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lateral flow assay (LFA) product development or production.
- Experience with membrane striping, conjugate preparation or rapid test assembly.
- Experience supporting assay development, product optimization or verification testing.
- Experience working under ISO 13485 or other quality management systems.
- Mandarin language skills are considered an asset.
