Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dental Assistant Level II to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental care, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and patient communication will help us provide exceptional service to our patients. Pay will be based on experience .
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment and medical imaging tools.
- Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems with Dexis and Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or medical coding.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dexis and Dentrix, including data entry and record management.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes aligned with OSHA standards.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, and other medical imaging devices.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and the structure of medical records for accurate documentation.
- Experience supporting four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures.
