Housing Coordinator - Keremeos, BC
$34.46 per hour; 26 hours per week
Lower Similkameen Community Services Society (LSCSS) is a registered charity and non-profit society providing a diversity of community services and affordable housing communities in Keremeos and surrounding areas. Housing Coordinators are responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of affordable rental or supportive housing and for supporting successful tenancies. This includes tenancy management, unit turnovers, coordinating services and emergency response planning, supervising staff, overseeing compliance with relevant contracts and legislation, and supporting building maintenance and safety.

Location: Keremeos, BC (supporting LSCSS housing communities)
Hours: 26 hours/week
Wage: $34.46/hour (aligned with HEABC Grid 35, Step 1)
Key Responsibilities (Summary)
· Tenant relations: support applicant intake and suitability screening; explain housing policies and procedures; coordinate tours, move-ins/transfers/move-outs; respond to enquiries, comments, complaints, and service requests; provide advocacy, referrals, and crisis response as needed.
· Building operations: conduct regular inspections; support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment; coordinate maintenance and repairs with contractors; oversee key/fob/security systems; support capital planning and asset management.
· Administrative coordination: maintain accurate records and files; prepare notices, correspondence, reports, and meeting notes; use relevant housing databases/software to record applicant and tenant information; support budgeting, purchasing, and tracking of expenditures and records.
· Staff supervision: support recruitment and onboarding; assign work, coach, and provide feedback; coordinate schedules/timekeeping and address staffing issues; promote a respectful, accountable workplace culture.
· Community engagement and compliance: build positive working relationships with residents, families, community partners, and funders; ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, contracts, and safety requirements; report and support investigation/resolution of critical incidents and unusual occurrences.
Qualifications
· Certificate or diploma in property management, social housing, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
· Three (3)+ years residential management experience with multi-unit housing.
· Two (2)+ years supervisory/management experience.
· Strong working knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and related housing legislation/regulatory frameworks (experience in seniors/supportive housing is an asset).
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams/SharePoint) and ability to learn housing/property management software.
· Excellent organization, documentation, and record-keeping skills; strong written and verbal communication.
· Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work with people with diverse needs and interests.
· Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
· Food Safe Level I, valid First Aid/CPR, and WHMIS (current or willingness to obtain).
· Availability to take calls outside of regular work hours, as required.
