Public Health, CDC & Screening is seeking an Administrative Support VI, a senior in‑scope leadership role within Primary Care Alberta that provides strategic administrative oversight and high‑level operational coordination across the Communicable Disease Control (CDC) program. This position offers the opportunity to lead administrative standards, guide administrative teams, and act as a trusted advisor to Directors, Managers, and senior leaders. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the Administrative Support VI manages complex administrative functions, oversees cross‑functional coordination, and ensures consistent, efficient, and high‑quality administrative operations. The role supports senior leadership through advanced calendar management, meeting preparation, briefing material development, and the handling of confidential and sensitive information. This position also leads administrative components of complex initiatives, analyzes system gaps, and implements improvements that strengthen program effectiveness. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while supporting program‑wide priorities. This is a remote position that may require occasional travel to a designated CDC site. Candidates located anywhere in Alberta will be considered. Successful candidates may be reassigned based on operational requirements. Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated in‑scope leadership experience overseeing administrative teams, including workload delegation, coaching, and performance input. At least one year’s experience supporting Directors or senior leadership in a complex provincial or public health environment. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation). Strong communication, critical thinking, and conflict‑management skills. Ability to work independently with sound judgment while fostering collaboration across diverse teams. Minimum of two years of recent experience (within the last five years) providing administrative support in a Communicable Disease Control (CDC) program Experience using health systems and tools such as Netcare, Connect Care, CDOM, and WFM. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high‑volume administrative workloads, troubleshoot operational issues, and resolve system challenges. Experience developing orientation materials, training resources, and administrative standards. Ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading administrative components of large‑scale projects or change initiatives. Advanced knowledge of SharePoint site administration and information management practices. Familiarity with CDC program workflows, reporting requirements, and cross‑portfolio coordination.
