What’s the job?
In this position, you are responsible for delivering, picking up, and servicing portable toilets and toilet trailers throughout the Fraser Valley in a safe, timely, and courteous manner. These responsibilities are performed on a daily basis in all types of weather conditions. As this position is route-based, we’re subject to traffic, delays onsite, and wait times at third-party dumping locations. Due to these factors, there’s no set end time to this role, so having a flexible schedule is important!
The pay for this position starts between $25-$26/hr with health & dental benefits after 3 months. The first performance/wage review is conducted within the first 6 months of employment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Drive in a defensive manner, be aware of surroundings; look ahead, leave a safe distance between vehicles, and be a professional and courteous driver
- Responsible for loading, unloading, and moving portable toilets and ensuring safe operation of the truck and equipment while doing so
- Clean, sanitize, and replenish supplies in toilets on-site using the truck vacuum and equipment
- Completion of regular documentation including but not limited to use of tablets, customer work orders, incident/near miss reports
- Follow instructions of tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment in accordance with all provincial laws
- Complete mandatory pre and post-trip inspections and report all issues found
- Report all significant events on the road, including violations and near misses
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training, safety meetings, and toolboxes
- Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Supervisor
- Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image
- Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service
- Track time worked using the company-provided time and attendance tool
- Practice safe work procedures at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid BC Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
- Previous (or related) experience - preferred but not required
- Available for flexible hours, OT, and the potential for weekend work
Specific Skills:
- Road knowledge of the Lower Mainland area
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to establish work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
- The ability to operate required equipment (training provided) in a safe and responsible manner
- Good problem-solving/decision-making skills
- Physically fit; able to perform a physically demanding job
- Able to work in various outdoor weather conditions (year-round)
- The ability to work overtime on an “as needed” basis, is required
