Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Loss Prevention Officer to join our security team. This role is vital in safeguarding company assets, ensuring a safe shopping environment, and preventing theft or misconduct. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement or security, with experience in surveillance and CCTV operations. Duties
- Monitor store premises using CCTV systems and surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store, both visually and via surveillance, to deter theft and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, including theft, vandalism, or other disturbances, following established procedures.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies during investigations of theft or security breaches.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation of suspicious activities for future reference.
- Assist in training staff on loss prevention techniques and security policies.
- Implement security measures such as bag checks or access controls as authorized by company policies.
Skills
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or loss prevention roles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV operation, and monitoring techniques.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify suspicious behavior quickly.
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and best practices is a plus.
- Physical fitness to patrol premises and respond swiftly to incidents when necessary. This position is essential for maintaining a secure environment for customers and staff while protecting company assets through proactive loss prevention measures.
