Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Outfitters Gift Shop in Banff. This role involves providing good customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining an organized and inviting retail environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for retail sales, and knowledge of merchandising and product displays.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or services
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Provide knowledgeable advice on the origin, significance, or local culture behind merchandise.
- Ensure the retail area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Handle customer inquiries effectively, addressing concerns with professionalism and courtesy
- Receive/unpack shipments, inspect for damages, and price new inventory.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock replenishment and tracking stock to prevent theft/loss.
- Able to lift and move boxes up to 25 pounds as part of daily duties.
Skills
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of merchandising principles and retail sales techniques
- Experience or interest in retail environments is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organizational skills
- Good organizational skills with attention to details
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
