This position requires a compassionate individual who is physically capable of providing hands-on care, including safe transfers, lifts, mobility support, and behavioural assistance when required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- PSW Certificate
- Experience with mechanical lifts, transfers, repositioning, and mobility assistance
- Physically strong and capable of safely assisting clients with mobility needs
- Experience working with individuals requiring 2:1 support is considered an asset
- Comfortable providing full personal care and activities of daily living
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check required
Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with personal care, hygiene, dressing, and toileting
- Safe use of lifts, transfer equipment, and mobility devices
- Supporting clients with daily routines and community outings
- Medication assistance as directed
- Light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Accurate charting and reporting of client care
- Maintaining professionalism and client dignity at all times
