We are a tank fabrication and industrial coating company based in Ryley, AB. We serve the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Our work focuses on quality fabrication, precision engineering, and long-term durability. We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsman to join our team.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate fabrication and shop drawings for tanks and related components. This role requires strong experience in mechanical drafting, SolidWorks proficiency, and the ability to work closely with engineering, fabrication, and project teams.
This role is offered initially as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention to transition to permanent full-time employment subject to performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical and fabrication drawings for tanks and associated components
- Develop and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
- Experience with Design Tables in SolidWorks
- Prepare shop drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and fabrication packages
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication personnel
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision control
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for documentation, tracking, and reporting.
- Support ongoing improvements to drafting standards and processes
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical drafting experience
- CET designation required
- Strong experience with SolidWorks required
- Experience in industrial fabrication is a strong asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office suite
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
