Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our team in a busy restaurant environment. This role is essential for maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen, supporting food service operations, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an interest in food industry operations. Prior restaurant or food handling experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to ensure compliance with food safety standards and kitchen procedures.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling as directed by kitchen staff
- Support the kitchen team with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen work area, including floors, counters, and storage spaces
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes according to health regulations
- Follow all food safety guidelines and proper sanitation procedures at all times
- Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during busy service hours when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food handling practices is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support other staff members
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting pots, pans, or boxes as needed
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn about the food industry and kitchen operations
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
