Intermediate Mechanical Designer/Engineer (HVAC, plumbing, building Services)
Job Description
As a Mechanical Designer/Engineer with Entrust Engineering you will have the opportunity to work on a multitude of different projects within the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors of the HVAC, plumbing and Building Service Design industry.

Duties and Responsibility
· Provide support to drafting staff in Revit and AutoCAD software, as required to satisfy project and client requirements.
· Provide maintenance support for CAD library, standards and templates.
· Assist/provide guidance to Junior staff with design and CAD related questions and ensuring consistent quality drawings are being prepared and issued.
· Continued development in Revit and producing drawings when required
· Perform engineering calculations (heat loss calculations (Carrier HAP), duct/pipe design, equipment selection, lifecycle analysis, etc…) as required to achieve project scope of work.
· Assist in the cost effective and energy efficient design of HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection systems for the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential sectors.
· Liaise and attend meetings with relevant parties to a specific project.
· Perform detailed mechanical on-site surveys of existing systems, as required.
· A typical project consists of schematic design (SD), design development (DD), contract document (CD) and contract administration (CA) phases.
o The completion of the SD, DD, CD, CA for medium/ large scale project, supervisory/engineering support to be provided on a requested basis.
o Working together with supervisor/engineer, to complete (pharmaceutical, cannabis, healthcare, food process, etc…) SD, DD, CD, CA for special type projects.
· Perform revisions to prepared drawings as requested (i.e. by engineer, architect, client, etc.)
· Prepare working mechanical drawings and specifications for Review, Permit, Tender and Construction.
· Prepare contemplated change notices, addendums and site instructions as required.
· Coordination with all relevant parties to a specific project.
· Assist in the preparation of engineering reports including existing system studies and
recommendations.
· A valid ‘G’ driver’s licence will be required for occasional travel to sites, meetings, etc., mostly within the Greater Toronto Area.
Qualifications and Skills Required
· PEO Licensed
· 6-10 years of engineering experience in the industry
· Experience in multi-disciplined project coordination
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT is a must
· Require comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices
· Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner
· Knowledge of Canadian/American Engineering standards
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
· Excellent time management and project management skills
· High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
· Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
