After School Program Leader (Ages 3–7)Join Our After School Team!
Glen Abbey Montessori School is looking for a warm, energetic, and dependable After School Program Leader to join our team.
This role is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and loves creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment at the end of the school day. Whether your experience comes from nannying, babysitting, summer camps, recreation programs, or childcare, we'd love to hear from you.
The ideal candidate is patient, organized, creative, and able to confidently supervise and engage a small group of children while building positive relationships with both families and colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and engage children aged 3–7 during our after-school program.
- Plan and lead a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, stories, and quiet activities.
- Create a calm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels safe and valued.
- Encourage kindness, independence, problem-solving, and respectful interactions between children.
- Prepare and maintain an organized, inviting classroom and activity space.
- Serve afternoon snacks while following food safety procedures.
- Assist with daily cleanup and ensure classrooms are left clean and organized at the end of the day.
- Work closely with the teaching team to ensure smooth transitions from the classroom to aftercare.
- Welcome parents at pickup and communicate professionally about each child's afternoon.

You do not need to be an Early Childhood Educator or Montessori teacher to apply. If you genuinely enjoy working with children and have experience caring for or supervising them, we encourage you to apply.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience caring for or working with young children.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- A genuine passion for working with children and creating a positive after-school experience.
